It was a night, that came in my life,
I never called it, I never asked it to come.
Did I call you ever? , did I take your name?
Did I ask you to stay forever?
You did not come alone, you brought him along, you stayed, you still are here, but he is no where.
I had heard, things come and go, he too came and has gone,
Then why don't you leave me, O night?
You are a night, that came and never went again.
Amazing!!!

DeleteWhat u mean by night here...is it some depression...or a rhought u want to get rid of
ReplyDeleteHere the poet, talks about a memory which came in his life due to a person specific. The poet is sad about the fact that that person left , but the thoughts given by that person are not ready to leave the mind of the poet. He is happy that those incidents happened in life but now is talking/asking his inner conscience about; when memories accompanied the person when he came, then why didn't they leave along with him.
DeleteBasically, the poem focusses on the fact that people come and people go, but the memories they give never tend to walk away.
Therefore its neither completely a thought of depression nor entirely the thought the poet wants to get rid off. :)
